Random Root Password Generation

Why is my root password randomly generated?

Good question! At Hudson Valley Host, we're dedicated to providing you with services that are secure which is the reason why we do this. It's all too common for people to use weak root passwords such as 'password123' and then get hacked/compromised. To try and stop brute force attacks on your server from being successful, we provision each server with a secure, randomly generated password that consists of numbers and letters that would be very tricky to brute force.

You cannot change the root password that your service is provisioned with, but you can change it once it's been provisioned if you wish to. We recommend using a combination of numbers and letters though, and better yet, symbols too.
