By default, logging into FTP will open the root directory of your account. In order for files to be publicly accessible, you will need to place them in the public_html folder. The public_html folder is the directory opened when someone accesses your domain. On some systems, this varies, though. Another common location is /var/www/html - contact us if you're unsure where to upload files.
